Scout Awards
There are many awards available to scouts that often go unearned simply because the leaders are not aware of them. Here you can find requirements and information about the common world conservation award and religious award, as well as less known heritage, emergency preparedness, physical fitness, and other recognitions. Making additional scout awards available to your den or patrol members gives them opportunities to try new things and expand their skills.
Recognition of accomplishments is important to keep the scouts involved and advancing in skill and rank. Making the awards meaningful through strict requirement checking and thoughtful presentation ceremonies will improve scout activity and ongoing participation.

@sandra - No. A Klondike can be pretty much any winter event - there are no rules, requirements, regulations, ... for what topics or skills are covered at one. It's up to the imagination of those that put the event together. But, there is some helpful info at this page.

However, the Lion program will be coming out of pilot later this year (effective with the 2018-2019 program year). After it comes out of pilot, Lions will earn adventure loops (belt loops).
Lions do not earn the rank of Bobcat, which is only for older Cub Scouts. After Lions graduate to a Tiger den, then they can earn the Bobcat rank.
There are some generic patches that you can get at the Scout shop that might help you to keep him interested. The Lion program is intended to be an introductory program for Cub Scouts, so that is why it doesn't have a lot of awards.
