Kim's Knot Trail Activity
This Activity is meant for Scouts BSA.
Required:
5-10 lengths of rope for each patrol.
5-10 lengths of rope for leader.
5-10 lengths of rope for leader.
Preparation:
Leader ties a length of rope around a tree and then ties lengths of rope together using different knots at each connection and ties the last length to another tree so the trail of knots hangs between the trees.
Instructions:
Patrols gather beyond one end of the knot trail. Their lengths of rope are given to the patrol leader.
Each patrol in turn has 1 minute to silently walk down the knot trail, studying the knots. They then depart to a designated area to recreate the knot trail using their lengths of rope. They can talk while making their knot trail.
The patrol with most correct knots in the correct order gets the most points.
