Camping Recipes
Camping food has a bad reputation but it is not too difficult to create a healthy, easy menu and then cook those meals in the outdoors. These camping recipes will make your campfire or dutch oven cooking more enjoyable and tasty. Many of these free cooking recipes are intended to also minimize the number of dirty pots and pans so clean up is less of a chore. Hopefully, you will find something new and easy to try on your next camping outing. There's no reason while the food you eat while camping can't be good, healthy, and easy.

Years ago we had a recipe for hot chocolate mix. Don't remember the quantities but remember it had nestles chocolate, carnation instant milk, powdered sugar. Would you have this recipe? I think it was a coleman recipe.

I once had wagon wheels (sandwich) at a boy scout event. They were wonderful! I was wondering if ANYONE has this recipe. If so I would greatly appreciate it!

Love looking at the many recipes. My family camps a lot and I have two
grandsons who are Boy Scouts, one being a Eagle Scout. Proud of them!

A breakfast food that has been made in GSLAC since I was a scout (I'm 71 now). Is called 'Garbage'
Ingredients: 2 lb bacon, 2 lb southern hash browns, 1 large onion diced, 2 doz eggs, 1/2 red pepper diced, 1/2 yellow pepper diced, salt and pepper.
Cook bacon in a dutch oven until slightly crispy and remove;
Add onions to oven, saute until translucent and remove;
Add potatoes and fry until crispy, and remove;
Pour off almost all bacon fat;
Scramble eggs and pour into oven, as the cook add all other Ingredients + salt and pepper to taste.
The red and yellow pepper are for looks.
I have feed 15+ scouts and scouters with this recipe.
